Job descriptionReq AEA5513316

Some brands post content. Others make people stop scrolling. We're looking for someone who knows the difference. Someone who lives and breathes social media, is fascinated by startups and marketing, and can turn bold ideas into content that gets people talking, following, and coming back for more. If you've ever looked at a brand's social media and thought, "I could do that ten times better," we want to meet you.

You'll join a fast-growing tech startup, where you'll turn social media into a powerful engine for audience growth, brand awareness, and demand generation. You'll own the company's social presence, help founders build their personal brands, and create content people actually want to watch, read, and share.

There's no established playbook waiting for you. You'll be expected to bring the ideas, build the systems, experiment relentlessly, and make things happen. If you're constantly thinking "I could make better content than that," we want to see what you've got.

Responsibilities

  • Own the organic social strategy across LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, creating content that grows audiences and drives business interest.
  • Build a consistent short-form video engine, from creative concepts and hooks to production, publishing, and optimization.
  • Turn startup stories, marketing trends, and creator economy insights into compelling, platform-native content.
  • Develop founder and employee-led content, transforming executive insights into engaging posts and videos that build personal brands.
  • Create scalable content workflows and publishing cadences that keep company and employee accounts consistently active.
  • Experiment with formats, storytelling, and distribution strategies, using performance data to double down on what works.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, creators, and production partners to bring content ideas to life.
  • Identify opportunities to engage the creator community and turn social attention into brand awareness, traffic, and sign-ups.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to create standout social content or grow an audience, backed by real examples of your work and results.
  • Deep understanding of LinkedIn, X, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, including what makes content perform on each platform.
  • Strong creative instincts, copywriting, and storytelling skills, especially for short-form video and attention-grabbing hooks.
  • Genuine interest in startups, business, marketing, and internet culture. You're not just consuming content; you're analyzing why it works.
  • Ability to build content systems, manage production schedules, and maintain a consistent publishing cadence.
  • Resourceful, experimental, and self-directed, with the confidence to bring ideas forward and execute without constant supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand audience growth, engagement, and content performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with founders and executives.

Nice to have

  • Experience growing social audiences for startups, B2B SaaS companies, or founder-led brands.
  • Experience with executive personal branding, employee advocacy, or creator-led marketing.
  • Hands-on video production or editing experience.
  • Familiarity with two-sided marketplaces, influencer marketing, or the creator economy.
  • Experience connecting organic social content to measurable traffic, sign-ups, or demand generation.
  • Experience with product-led growth (PLG) or self-serve SaaS business models, particularly using organic social content to drive user acquisition and sign-ups.

Benefits

  • Location: Hybrid, Vancouver, BC (3 days in office)
  • Salary: $60K–$90K CAD
  • PTO: 3 weeks paid vacation + statutory holidays + paid sick leave
