Job descriptionReq 8019365

Squarespace is looking for a frontend-focused engineer who enjoys owning features end-to-end. While your expertise is building exceptional user experiences, you're comfortable working across the stack to deliver secure, scalable identity solutions.

You will join the Identity & Access Management (IAM) team, where we architect the mission-critical authentication, authorization, and account security frameworks that safeguard millions of users worldwide. We own the systems powering sign-in, sign-up, account recovery, multi-factor authentication, passkeys, OAuth, and identity verification. Our mission is to make security seamless - creating intuitive user experiences while building highly reliable and secure backend systems.

If you are a Frontend Engineer who strives to go beyond what is possible in a web browser, we want to hear from you! You will report to the Engineering Manager in our New York City headquarters.

You'll Get To...

  • Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems across all business units.
  • Build elegant user experiences that enable Squarespace teams to easily add authentication, authorizations and security features to products and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as product, design, infrastructure, platform, data, security and legal.
  • Help define frontend architecture, engineering standards, testing strategies, and developer experience.
  • Integrate frontend applications with OAuth, OIDC, session management, and authorization services.

Who We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of software development experience, with an emphasis on modern frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/TypeScript/React) and building delightful user interfaces.
  • Extensive experience developing large-scale application software
  • Are motivated by solving hard problems, and measure your success in terms of impact doing so.
  • Have experience and interest in contributing to services around OAuth, WebAuthN, IdentityProviders, Identity and Access Management
  • Familiarity with backend development using Node.js, Java, Go, or similar technologies.
  • A strong understanding of, and practical experience with, web application development
  • A sincere commitment to crafting readable and dependable code
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience

Benefits & Perks

  • A choice between medical plans with an option for 100% covered premiums including medical, dental, and vision
  • Supplemental Life and Disability Insurance plans
  • Fertility and adoption benefits
  • Headspace mindfulness app subscription
  • Global Employee Assistance Program
  • Retirement benefits with employer match
  • Flexible paid time off
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave and family care leave
  • Pretax commuter benefit
  • Education reimbursement
  • Employee donation match to community organizations
  • 7 Global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
  • Dog-friendly workplace
  • Free lunch and snacks
  • Private rooftop
  • Hack week twice per year

Cash Compensation Range: $110,500 - $178,250 USD
