General Summary:

 

The Philanthropy System Analyst is responsible for working with others in all areas of the Philanthropy Division as well as with IT to identify operational problems and find solutions. The Philanthropy System Analyst will train users, create reports, conduct user acceptance testing and assist the Philanthropy Team to use the Philanthropy System so it provides the greatest ROI.

Responsibilities:

  • Create lists, queries and exports to extract data from the Ascend CRM with specific criteria
  • Work with IT to develop Ascend CRM to meet the needs of philanthropy users and IT
  • Provide user support for Ascend CRM functionality.
  • Test new releases/updates and work with Philanthropy leadership in decision making and implementation of changes.
  • Develop and recommend data integrity and quality audits for the Ascend CRM to ensure the accuracy of data entry and record coding.
  • Develop methods for streamlining data entry and extraction processes within Ascend CRM.
  • Develop and document relevant business processes involving Ascend CRM including a data dictionary, code tables and crosswalks for data that exists across multiple systems
  • Performs regular data appending procedures from a variety of sources (example: NCOA update and email appends, etc.) following best practices
  • Work with Alumni and Annual Giving on appeal standards, tracking appeal performance, etc.

  • Maintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University and job-specific online training courses.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four (4) years of related experience.
  • Systems Analyst experience.
  • Working with end users and IT.
  • Knowledge of donor software (example: Raisers Edge, Ascend, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Create lists, queries and exports.
  • Understanding of data administration and management functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office primary software, particularly Excel for use with data.
  • Ability to train, motivate and communicate with staff in a high-volume goal oriented, friendly work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use new software.
  • Self-Motivated, self-directed, collegial, creative and results oriented.
  • Must have an advanced ability to prioritize tasks, schedules and objectives.
  • Must be collaborative with a strong commitment to team support and positive customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical understanding of CRM database systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related management field.
  • Eight (8) years of related experience.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining dashboards for displaying and analyzing data.
  • Experience with Ascend, Affinaquest, Salesforce and/or Raisers Edge.
  • Fundraising CRM experience.
