Job Description

-Schedules computer lab staff and provides work direction to ensure continuous lab operations; schedules and coordinates lab activities.

-Analyzes and resolves computer hardware and software problems that cannot be resolved by computer lab staff.

-Coordinates computer lab resources for virtual academic instruction.

-Oversees the maintenance and repair of computer equipment and peripherals; and installation, maintenance, and upgrades of computer software.

-Mentors and trains computer lab assistants.

-Identifies, analyzes, and solves customer issues.

-Develops manuals and documentation processes for computer lab operations.

-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Sixty (60) semester hours of college coursework and three (3) years related technical experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Broad knowledge of computer hardware, software, and related networks and peripherals.

-Analytical ability to identify and troubleshoot computer issues.

-Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with faculty, staff, and students.

-Supervisory skills to supervise student workers.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills.

-Excellent organizational skills to coordinate lab activities.

-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

-Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and act upon decisions within scope of delegated authority.

-Proficiency with automated software and hardware systems.

-Proficiency with PC software applications in a Windows environment.

Starting salary for this position is $18.58/ hour and is negotiable depending on education and experience.
