Job descriptionContract

Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company specializing in MENA-region languages — including Farsi (Persian) — for use in USCIS filings, US courts, universities, and medical settings. Every translation is reviewed by a native-speaker linguist before release, and we're looking for a Legal Farsi Translator to join our reviewer network, focusing on civil and legal documents such as court records, birth and marriage certificates, and academic transcripts translated from Farsi into English.

What you'll do

  • Review and edit machine-generated first-draft translations of Farsi legal and civil documents into English, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Sign the certification statement attesting that each translation is a true, complete, and accurate rendering of the original document
  • Preserve document layout, formatting, and structure to match the source document
  • Apply correct and consistent transliteration of names, dates, and places, including per client-specified spellings (e.g., matching an immigration petition)
  • Flag documents with ambiguous terminology, regional dialect variation, or unclear source content for further review
  • Meet turnaround deadlines ranging from 14 to 48 hours depending on order type

What we're looking for

  • Native or near-native fluency in Farsi (Persian) and English
  • Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or court documents from Farsi to English
  • Strong working knowledge of Iranian civil document conventions, legal terminology, and calendar/date conventions
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly with names, numbers, and dates
  • Ability to work independently and meet short, defined turnaround windows
  • Familiarity with certified translation standards and certification statement requirements for official document use

Nice to have

  • Experience translating Dari or other regional Persian variants
  • Background in immigration, court, or academic document translation specifically for US-based filings
  • Prior experience as a certified or sworn translator
