Job descriptionFull Time

Wanderlust is a travel planning app that grounds AI-generated itineraries in real city, cost, and safety data, runs trips offline on the ground via Trip Mode, and lets users share and clone trips through its /explore feed. We're looking for an Analytics Engineer to help us build the data infrastructure that powers decision-making across the product — from itinerary generation to Trip Mode usage to subscription conversion.

As an Analytics Engineer, you'll partner closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to turn raw event and operational data into clean, trusted, well-modeled datasets that the whole company can rely on.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines (e.g., using dbt or similar tools) on top of our warehouse
  • Own data quality, testing, and documentation for core analytics tables used across the company
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to instrument new features and ensure event tracking is accurate and well-structured
  • Build and maintain dashboards and self-serve reporting layers for stakeholders in product, growth, and leadership
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into clear metrics definitions and reliable, reusable data sources
  • Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our data pipelines

What we're looking for

  • Experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or similar role building production data models
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with a modern data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  • Hands-on experience with a transformation framework such as dbt
  • Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, star schemas, etc.)
  • Comfort working directly with product and business stakeholders to define and validate metrics

Nice to have

  • Experience working with mobile app event data or offline-first product analytics
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms and A/B testing analysis
  • Exposure to BI tools such as Looker, Mode, or Metabase
