Overview


Provide leadership in the areas of technology and media-enhanced teaching and learning. Work closely with faculty, senior School administrators, and staff to identify instructional technology strategic directions, and select, implement, and promote adoption of creative and effective solutions to support and extend the School's degree and non-degree instructional programs in campus-based, online, and blended settings. As the leader for technology-assisted learning, the Manager will maintain an advanced working fluency with state-of-the art technologies, current research on learning theory, and their application to the broad range of School objectives. Work both individually and collaboratively with other IT staff to execute project plans and deliver solutions meeting the School's needs.


Required Skills and Abilities


1. Ability to communicate concepts and processes using simple language and effective visual design.
2. Demonstrated ability to support instructors and learners on learning management systems or content management systems, and troubleshooting issues.
3. Strong technical documentation skills, with the ability to write clear help documentation and explain educational technology applications.
4. Proficiency and experience with educational software tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Creative Suite, H5P, Camtasia, and Vyond.
5. Demonstrated experience managing distributed work through ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Salesforce, and collaborating with faculty and support staff.
 

Principal Responsibilities

1.  Provide leadership in the areas of technology and media enhanced teaching and learning.  2.  Advise faculty and program directors on methods to use technology to enhance instruction.  3.  Provide direction for and actively engage in the design, development, delivery and adoption of instructional technology products, pilots, services, and initiatives.  4.  Create systematic project and design plans to facilitate the communication of instructional technology project needs to developers, multimedia producers, and other staff.  5.  Develop strategies for classroom technology, and select, implement, and promote their adoption.  6.  Administer the use of the School's learning management systems. 7.  Promote and build School‐wide community awareness of the range of available instructional technology tools, services and approaches. 8.  Develop support models, policies, and procedures consistent with the goals of the School.  9.  Evaluate outcomes and impacts of technology-enhanced learning initiatives through the design of metrics and other forms of assessment.  10. Maintain an advanced working fluency with state-of-the art technologies, current research on learning theory, and their applications to the broad range of School objectives.  11. As a project manager, supervise staff, student workers, and contractors assigned to projects. Regularly communicate project, status, resolve issues, and meet expectations for deliverables.  12. Develop and manage a budget for instructional technology support. 13. Serve as a senior member of the Yale-wide IT management team, contribute to strategic planning and discussions  14. Other projects and duties as assigned.  Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
