Job description
ABA Rank is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale the platform behind its independent directory of Applied Behavior Analysis software and providers, including its nightly-recomputed ranking index, search and filtering tools, provider and vendor profiles, and reviewer-facing features.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power search, filtering, ranking, and profile data across the platform
- Contribute to frontend features that let users search vendors, filter shortlists, and read reviews and profiles
- Work with data pipelines and scheduled jobs that recompute rankings and refresh indexed content on a regular cadence
- Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code review with other engineers
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, working to improve reliability, performance, and data accuracy
- Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to scope and ship new features end to end
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including work on production web applications
- Strong skills in at least one modern backend language and framework, plus solid working knowledge of frontend web technologies
- Experience designing and working with relational databases and building or consuming APIs
- Demonstrated ability to own features from design through deployment and monitoring
- Comfort working in a small, fast-moving engineering team with high autonomy
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-engineers
Nice to have
- Experience with search, ranking, or recommendation systems
- Experience with scheduled data pipelines or batch processing jobs
- Background working on marketplace, directory, or review-driven platforms
