ABA Rank operates an independent, ranked directory of Applied Behavior Analysis providers, software, and service vendors, with rankings built on disclosed, non-paid signals and recomputed nightly. We're hiring an SEO Specialist to grow organic visibility for the directory, its ranked category pages, and its provider and vendor profiles, while also ensuring our content is discoverable and citable by AI assistants and search engines alike.
What you'll do
- Own on-page and technical SEO across the site, including category pages, clinic/vendor profiles, and the Toolkit search and filter experiences
- Conduct keyword research and content gap analysis to grow organic traffic across ABA-related search terms and long-tail queries
- Monitor and improve site structure, schema markup, crawlability, and indexation to support both traditional search and AI-driven retrieval (structured data, markdown feeds, llms.txt, and similar formats)
- Partner with content and product teams to optimize page templates, metadata, and internal linking at scale across thousands of listings
- Track rankings, organic traffic, and conversion metrics, and report on SEO performance and priorities to stakeholders
- Audit and resolve technical SEO issues such as duplicate content, crawl errors, site speed, and mobile usability
What we're looking for
- Proven experience running SEO programs for a content-heavy or directory/marketplace-style website
- Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals: schema.org markup, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicalization, and site architecture at scale
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar
- Ability to work with large sets of templated pages (thousands of listings) rather than a handful of static pages
- Comfortable analyzing data and translating it into clear, prioritized recommendations
- Familiarity with how AI search assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.) retrieve and cite web content is a plus
Nice to have
- Experience with JSON-LD structured data implementation
- Familiarity with local SEO or directory/listing SEO specifically
- Basic understanding of APIs and how structured data feeds (JSON, markdown, MCP) support machine readability
