DoubleTap Consulting builds custom websites, product platforms and internal software for streaming, SaaS and commerce teams, working as a senior-only team with direct access to the engineers doing the work. We're hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, observability and release process across client engagements — and to hand off systems that client teams can actually run themselves.
What you'll do
- Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure for client platforms, with an emphasis on reliability and maintainability
- Set up observability — logging, monitoring, alerting — so issues are caught before clients notice them
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes across multiple concurrent engagements
- Own infrastructure-as-code practices so environments are reproducible and auditable
- Partner directly with senior engineers and clients to scope infrastructure work and hand it over cleanly at the end of an engagement
- Troubleshoot production incidents and drive root-cause fixes under time pressure
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi, or similar)
- Solid background building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience setting up monitoring and observability stacks from scratch
- Comfortable working directly with clients and explaining infrastructure decisions in plain terms
Nice to have
- Experience handing off infrastructure and documentation to non-specialist teams
- Familiarity with Node.js and Postgres-backed application environments
- Experience supporting payment infrastructure or high-traffic consumer platforms
