Senior Software Engineer

DoubleTap Consulting is a senior-only software consultancy that builds custom websites, product platforms and internal software for streaming, SaaS and commerce teams. We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work directly with clients and lead the build on engagements — with no account layer and no junior bench between you and the work.

What you'll do

• Own the architecture and delivery of custom web platforms, applications and APIs for client engagements
• Work directly with client stakeholders to scope, sequence and estimate technical work
• Build with Next.js, React, React Native and Node/Postgres depending on engagement needs
• Set up infrastructure, observability and release processes that client teams can run independently after handoff
• Review code and provide technical direction across concurrent client engagements
• Translate design systems and product requirements into production-grade, maintainable code

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including client-facing or consulting work
• Strong hands-on experience with React/Next.js and Node.js, with comfort working across the full stack
• Experience designing and shipping APIs, integrations and data-backed applications
• Demonstrated ownership of technical decisions from scoping through production and handoff
• Comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders without a project manager layer in between
• Track record of shipping production software independently, with minimal oversight

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native for cross-platform (iOS, Android, web) builds
• Experience with payment infrastructure (e.g. Stripe Connect) or CMS/marketing site architecture
• Experience with zero-downtime platform migrations or replatforming projects
