Mobile Engineer

DoubleTap Consulting is a senior-only software consultancy building custom websites, product platforms and internal software for streaming, SaaS and commerce teams. We're hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead mobile builds across our engagements, working directly with clients as one of the people actually writing the code — no account layer, no junior bench.

What you'll do

• Architect and build mobile applications from the ground up, primarily using React Native across iOS and Android
• Work directly with clients during scoping and delivery to define technical approach, sequence and tradeoffs
• Integrate mobile apps with backend APIs and services, including Node/Postgres-based systems
• Own release process, app store submissions and mobile CI/CD pipelines
• Set up performance monitoring and reliability practices so client teams can maintain the app after handoff
• Collaborate with design to translate interface systems and prototypes into shipped, production-quality mobile code

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional mobile engineering experience, with deep expertise in React Native
• Proven track record shipping and maintaining production mobile apps on both iOS and Android
• Strong understanding of native build tooling, app store release processes and mobile performance optimization
• Comfortable working directly with clients and communicating technical decisions clearly and confidently
• Experience integrating mobile clients with REST or GraphQL APIs and modern backend services
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a project end-to-end, without a large supporting team

Nice to have

• Experience with native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) development alongside React Native
• Background working in an agency or consultancy setting across multiple concurrent clients
• Experience with Node and Postgres on the backend side of a mobile product
