Elite Hockey HQ is looking for an SEO Specialist to grow organic visibility for our training platform, which brings periodized programs, skill video, and readiness tracking to hockey players across youth, junior, and college levels. In this role, you'll own the strategy and execution behind our search performance, working closely with content, product, and marketing teams to help hockey athletes and teams find us when they're searching for training resources.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute an SEO strategy across the website, including the resources hub, glossary, gear guides, and program pages
- Conduct keyword research to identify opportunities across hockey training, recovery, and player development topics
- Perform on-page optimization including title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, and internal linking
- Partner with content creators to brief, optimize, and refresh articles, guides, and tools for search performance
- Monitor site health through technical SEO audits, fixing crawlability, indexation, and site speed issues
- Track and report on organic traffic, rankings, and conversion metrics, adjusting strategy based on performance data
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally for a content-rich or consumer web platform
- Proficiency with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar
- Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, including site architecture, schema markup, and Core Web Vitals
- Experience briefing or collaborating with writers and content teams to produce search-optimized content
- Comfort working with analytics platforms (Google Analytics or equivalent) to measure and report on performance
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the hockey or broader sports/fitness content space
- Experience optimizing tools, calculators, or interactive content for search
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for implementing on-page fixes
