Job description

KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG), is the world’s leading travel search engine. With billions of queries across our platforms, we help people find their perfect flight, stay, rental car and vacation package. We’re also transforming business travel with a new corporate travel solution, KAYAK for Business.

As an employee of KAYAK, you will be part of a travel company that operates a portfolio of global metasearch brands including momondo, Cheapflights and HotelsCombined, among others. From start-up to industry leader, innovation is in our DNA and every employee has an opportunity to make their mark. Our focus is on building the best travel search engine to make it easier for everyone to experience the world.

At KAYAK, data is how we make better decisions for travelers and partners alike — and the Commercial Analytics team is at the center of that work. As an Analyst on this globally distributed team, you'll help turn commercial data into clear, actionable insights that directly support revenue decisions across flights, hotels, cars, and advertising, working closely with colleagues across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.

This role will be required to work from our Cambridge, MA office at least 3 days per week.

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze commercial datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and performance drivers across travel verticals including flights, hotels, cars, and advertising

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization and reporting tools to give commercial teams timely visibility into business performance

  • Respond to ad-hoc data and analysis requests from commercial teams

  • Monitor data accuracy, troubleshoot discrepancies, and maintain reporting reliability across existing data sources

  • Define and document key performance indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with commercial teams, and build models to support forecasting and goal-setting

  • Collaborate with data engineering and business intelligence colleagues to ensure data quality and translate commercial reporting needs into technical requirements

  • Contribute to global analytics projects such as inventory forecasting, partner-facing reporting tools, and the development of AI-assisted analytics solutions

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior commercial leaders.

Please apply if you have:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with data in an analytical, business intelligence, operations, or similar role — we value demonstrated ability and transferable skills; equivalent experience, training, or self-directed learning is considered

  • At least 2 years of hands-on SQL experience, writing queries to explore and manipulate large datasets

  • Hands-on experience with at least one data visualization or reporting tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Superset, Power BI, or a comparable platform)

  • The ability to communicate data findings clearly to people with varying levels of technical background, including in written summaries and presentations

  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and an enjoyment of working through ambiguous problems using data

  • Comfort working in a global, cross-functional environment with colleagues across multiple time zones

To stand out, you also have:

  • Experience with Python or R for data manipulation, automation, or modeling

  • Familiarity with the travel, e-commerce, or digital advertising industry

  • Experience working with AI or agentic analytics tools

  • Exposure to large-scale data warehouse environments (e.g., Trino, Vertica, or similar).

Benefits and Perks:

  • Work from (almost) anywhere for up to 20 days per year

  • Focus on mental health and well-being:

    • Company-paid therapy sessions through SpringHealth

    • Company-paid subscription to HeadSpace

    • Company-wide week off a year - the whole team fully recharges (and returns without a pile-up of work!)

    • No meeting Fridays

  • Paid parental leave

  • Generous paid vacation + time off for your birthday

  • Paid volunteer time

  • Focus on your career growth:

    • Development Dollars

    • Leadership development

    • Access to thousands of on-demand e-learnings

  • Travel Discounts

  • Employee Resource Groups

  • Competitive retirement and health plans

  • Free lunch 2 days per week

  • Fun quarterly events such as boat trips, arcades, ski trips, Thursday socials, and more

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this Massachusetts-based role is $90,000-$105,000.

We offer a competitive base salary and benefits including: health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave benefits. This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.

What applying to KAYAK usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through ashby for roles at KAYAK can typically expect an online application process involving a resume submission and possibly some initial screening questions. The process may include multiple stages, such as a recruiter conversation, hiring manager discussions, and role-specific assessments like technical exercises for engineering positions or case studies for analyst and business roles. Ashby-based systems commonly provide applicants with status updates through an online portal, though response times vary and are not guaranteed. Candidates should typically prepare materials relevant to the specific role type, as expectations can differ notably between technical positions like software or data engineering and business-focused roles such as marketing or operations. As with most ATS-driven hiring processes, applicants are generally encouraged to tailor their application to the specific job posting and follow up respectfully if no response is received within a reasonable timeframe.
