Join us in building the future of finance.

Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

Our team builds industry-changing financial products at national scale, in partnership with the U.S. Government, to expand financial access for millions of Americans. The team launched its hallmark product, Trump Accounts, which debuted as the #3 app in the App Store and #1 in Finance. We have an exciting year ahead growing that product while expanding into new verticals, delivering simple, trusted, and impactful financial experiences to a massive audience. We're an ambitious, collaborative team of builders who love solving complex problems together, partnering closely with product, engineering, legal, and operations to ship work that meets a very high bar.

As a Staff Product Designer on this team, you will lead design for new zero-to-one product experiences from early concept through national launch, shaping how millions of Americans interact with an entirely new category of financial product. This role is for someone who obsesses over the details others miss. You'll set the visual and interaction bar for products that ship to a massive, high-visibility audience, where craft quality is inseparable from trust.

You'll work closely with senior leadership, engineers, researchers, data scientists, and marketers to define product direction, translate complex requirements into clear, elegant user experiences, and hold every screen to a pixel-perfect standard before it ships. This role means taking ownership of design decisions and design quality that influence both product strategy and customer outcomes for one of Robinhood's most visible and impactful product lines.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end design for zero-to-one products, from early concept through national launch
  • Own the craft bar: typography, spacing, motion, and visual consistency across a product used by millions
  • Translate complex, ambiguous requirements into simple, trusted, well-crafted user experiences
  • Partner with engineering to ensure design intent survives implementation, down to the pixel
  • Build and maintain design systems and patterns that scale craft quality across a growing product line
  • Review and raise the bar on design work across the team, holding a high standard for detail and polish
  • Present design direction and rationale to senior leadership

What you bring

  • A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual craft: precise typography, considered spacing systems, polished motion and micro-interaction work
  • A track record of shipping pixel-perfect work at scale, not just concepts
  • Fluency in design systems and the discipline to build for consistency across a growing surface area
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments while still holding a high craft bar under deadline pressure
  • Experience partnering with engineering closely enough to protect visual fidelity through implementation

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
  • Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching
  • Best in class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents
  • Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
