What you'll build
We are seeking a highly trusted, strategically minded, and execution-oriented Chief of Staff (f/m/d) to support the CHRO and lead the CHRO Office. The ultimate objective of this role is to ensure that the CHRO has the right information, context, preparation, and follow-through at the right time to make informed decisions, anticipate key topics, and focus on the highest-impact strategic priorities, while ensuring professional governance of the CHRO Office and fulfillment of relevant governance and audit requirements.
The Chief of Staff (f/m/d) will operate at the intersection of strategy, leadership, communication, delivery, governance, and team leadership. The successful candidate will act as a proactive advisor and information integrator for the CHRO, ensuring that topics are appropriately prioritized, decision materials are clear and complete, risks and dependencies are visible, follow-ups are driven to closure, and the CHRO Office team operates effectively across senior leaders, functional teams, and key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic agenda management: Partner with the CHRO to clarify priorities, translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, and ensure focus on the most critical topics.
- Trusted advisor and board interface: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CHRO and act as a interface to the Supervisory Board, board governance functions, and board offices, ensuring high-quality preparation, coordination, follow-through, and alignment on CHRO-related topics.
- CHRO readiness and information flow: Ensure the CHRO consistently receives the right information, context, analysis, and stakeholder input at the right time to support informed decision-making and effective engagement.
- Executive decision support: Prepare high-quality briefings, presentations, talking points, analyses, and recommendations for leadership meetings, Board discussions, stakeholder engagements, and external events, with a strong focus on what the CHRO needs to know, decide, or communicate.
- Portfolio coordination: Drive alignment across initiatives, functions, and leadership teams within the CHRO’s area of responsibility; track progress, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
- CHRO Office team leadership: Lead and develop the CHRO Office team, ensuring clear priorities, effective collaboration, high-quality execution, professional office operations, and strong service orientation toward the CHRO, senior stakeholders, and governance bodies.
- Documentation and governance: Maintain clear, accurate, and audit-ready documentation of decisions, follow-ups, governance processes, and key CHRO Office materials to ensure transparency, continuity, and compliance with relevant requirements.
- Governance and operating rhythm: Align and manage effective meeting cadences, agendas, follow-ups, and decision processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely execution.
- Stakeholder management: Act as a trusted liaison between the CHRO, senior executives, internal teams, customers, partners, and other external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Special projects: Lead or coordinate high-priority, confidential, or time-sensitive initiatives on behalf of the CHRO, often in ambiguous or fast-moving environments.
- Communication and messaging: Support leadership communications, organizational updates, speeches, narratives, and materials that reinforce strategic direction and priorities.
- Issue escalation and problem solving: Identify bottlenecks, surface risks, recommend solutions, and help resolve complex cross-functional challenges before escalating and address topics that require attention with clear options and recommendations.
- Confidentiality and judgment: Handle highly sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Travel accompaniment and on-site support: Accompany the CHRO on international business travels, executive engagements, and external events to ensure effective preparation, real-time coordination, stakeholder alignment, documentation, and timely follow-up on decisions and commitments.
