What We Want
The Graphic Designer III, under direction, translates brand strategy into visual expression across multi-platform brand campaigns, social media and campus touchpoints. Performs expert-level graphic design, marketing and consultation for various brand, print and digital projects for marketing and communications needs of the university. Responsibilities include supporting and maintaining the university brand management platform. Meets with internal and external customers to determine project needs and requirements.

Responsibilities
Graphic Design, advertising and brand activation support
Conceptualizes and implements creative work, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
Performs expert level design and consultation work
Assists the Creative Manager and Executive Director in developing and implementing comprehensive, university-level, strategic marketing programs
Builds enablement tools for local communicators to lift-and-shift (key messages, visual guardrails, channel guidance, templates and examples)
Supports and maintains the university brand management platform
Social Media Content Creation
Consults, designs, and develops graphics Texas A&M Social Media channels or for external customers around campus. Each channel has varied sizes, types, and needs that will need to be managed and anticipated
Reviews for functionality, browser compatibility, consistency, and user interface design, ensuring that guidelines are met
Motion Graphic Creation
Creates text animation and video for brand advertising, events and activations
Assists Visual Media team with motion-graphic animations needs
Project Coordination
Provides art direction, brand oversight, and strategic management of various projects including social media and integrated communication campaigns
Works closely with various vendors and other communications staff to ensure timeliness and quality of final products
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years of related experience in graphic design, print and electronic media, marketing or related design field
Preferred Qualifications
Five years' experience in design, including print and online media
Experience working in the marketing and communications field
Experience working within brand guides or standards
Experience updating or maintaining a brand hub platform
Experience creating animated video in AfterEffects or similar program
Expert knowledge of project management with experience using a project management tool
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Expert skill level using Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and AfterEffects
Knowledge of word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet type programs
Expert knowledge of design principles and website design principles
Expert knowledge of UI/UX principles
Emphasized knowledge in Advertising, Social Media, Content Strategy, and Content Production
Expert understanding of visual strategy for social media
Ability to create print specifications, obtain print bids, prep files for printing, oversee proofing and production, and perform press checks
Excellent time management skills
Ability to lead and manage large design campaigns
