City Guide Editor

Wanderlust App is looking for a City Guide Editor to help build out the curated city guides that power the app's inspiration and planning experience. Wanderlust plans trips from real city and cost data, covering 1,300+ cities across 190+ countries, and this role is central to keeping that content accurate, useful, and genuinely helpful to travelers — the kind of guide someone can start a real itinerary from, not a generic listicle.

What you'll do

• Research and write city guides covering neighborhoods, food and activity recommendations, costs, and practical logistics
• Build starter itineraries for each city that reflect how travelers actually move through it
• Keep existing guides accurate and current as prices, hours, and recommendations change
• Fact-check submissions and source material against reliable, up-to-date references
• Collaborate with product and design on how guide content is structured and displayed in the app
• Maintain a consistent voice and format across guides so travelers can trust and compare them

What we're looking for

• Experience writing or editing travel content, city guides, or destination journalism
• Strong research skills and comfort verifying facts like pricing, hours, and safety details
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a clean, consistent style
• Firsthand travel experience in a meaningful number of the cities or regions you'd cover
• Ability to work independently against a content calendar and hit deadlines
• Comfort using content management or editorial tools to publish and update guides

Nice to have

• Experience with SEO best practices for travel or lifestyle content
• A portfolio of published city guides, travel writing, or destination content
• Familiarity with budget or cost-of-living research for travel destinations
