Job descriptionFull Time
Wanderlust is a trip planning app that drafts day-by-day itineraries from real city and cost data across 1,300+ cities, runs the trip offline on the ground through Trip Mode, and lets travelers share and clone trips through a discovery feed. We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to help build the web and mobile experiences that bring this plan-it, live-it, share-it product to life.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain user-facing features across our web application, working closely with design and backend engineers
- Implement responsive, accessible UI components for itinerary planning, trip editing, and the map-based journey view
- Collaborate on the offline-first experience that powers Trip Mode, ensuring data syncs reliably when connectivity returns
- Optimize frontend performance, including load times and rendering for data-heavy views like maps and day-by-day itineraries
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
- Work with product and design to turn user needs into polished, shipped features
What we're looking for
- Solid experience building production web applications with a modern JavaScript framework (React or similar)
- Strong command of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience working with REST or GraphQL APIs and integrating frontend with backend services
- Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Familiarity with state management patterns and component-driven architecture
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative product team
Nice to have
- Experience with React Native or another mobile app framework
- Experience building offline-first or offline-capable web/mobile experiences
- Experience with map-based UIs or geospatial data visualization
- Familiarity with browser extension development
