Full Stack Engineer

Wanderlust App is a travel planning platform that grounds AI-generated itineraries in real city, cost, and safety data, then carries the plan into an offline Trip Mode for use on the ground, and helps travelers share and discover trips through a social feed. We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale the web and mobile experiences that power planning, offline trip execution, and trip sharing.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and ship features spanning frontend UI and backend services across our web and mobile products
• Collaborate with product and design to translate user needs (trip planning, day optimization, offline access, collaboration) into shipped functionality
• Build and maintain APIs and data models that support itinerary generation, mapping, and real-time collaboration features
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code and participate in code review
• Diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues across the stack
• Work with data sources (city, cost, and mapping data) to ensure features are accurate and performant

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of professional experience building full stack web applications
• Strong proficiency in a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (e.g., React) and backend experience with Node.js or an equivalent server-side language
• Experience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs
• Comfort working with relational or document databases and writing efficient queries
• Experience shipping features end-to-end, from database to UI, in a production environment
• Solid understanding of testing, version control, and collaborative development practices

Nice to have

• Experience building offline-first or mobile app experiences
• Experience with mapping/geolocation APIs or itinerary/scheduling logic
• Experience working on consumer-facing products with real-time collaboration features
