Wanderlust App is looking for a Technical Writer to help us document the product clearly for the people who use it every day — travelers planning trips, living them offline in Trip Mode, and sharing them with others. You'll work closely with product and design to translate how features like the AI travel assistant, Journeys, Trip Mode, and Travel Passport actually work into clear, accurate, user-facing content.
What you'll do
- Write and maintain help center articles, in-app guidance, tooltips, and FAQs that explain how to use Wanderlust's planning, collaboration, and offline features
- Partner with product managers and designers to document new features as they ship, including Trip Mode, Optimize Day, and the browser extension
- Create onboarding content and walkthroughs that help new users get from a blank page to a finished itinerary
- Maintain a consistent voice and terminology across app copy, support content, and guides
- Audit and update existing documentation to keep it accurate as features change
- Work with support and community teams to identify gaps in documentation based on real user questions
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience as a technical writer, UX writer, or documentation specialist, ideally for a consumer software product
- Strong portfolio of clear, concise user-facing writing — help articles, product guides, or in-app copy
- Ability to explain technical or workflow-heavy features in plain, friendly language without oversimplifying
- Comfortable working directly with product and design teams in a fast-moving environment
- Experience organizing and maintaining a help center or knowledge base
- Excellent editing skills and attention to consistency and accuracy
Nice to have
- Experience writing documentation for a mobile app or travel product
- Familiarity with tools like Zendesk, Intercom, or similar help center platforms
- Background in UX writing or microcopy for consumer apps
