Web Design Awards is looking for a Product Designer (UI/UX) to help shape the digital experience used by designers, agencies, and studios who submit work to be judged, and by the hiring teams who browse the index to find them. This role will work across the core product surfaces — submission flows, the judging and scoring experience, the public index and award pages, and the tools studios and buyers use to connect — to make the product clearer, faster, and more usable for everyone who touches it.
What you'll do
- Design end-to-end user flows for both sides of the platform: designers submitting and tracking work, and buyers browsing and matching with studios
- Translate product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
- Own and evolve the design system to keep the product visually consistent and easy to extend
- Partner closely with engineering and product to scope work, validate feasibility, and ship iteratively
- Conduct or synthesize user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
- Design for accessibility and responsive behavior across devices and breakpoints
What we're looking for
- A portfolio demonstrating strong UI craft and clear UX reasoning across shipped products
- Experience designing complex, multi-sided web products (marketplaces, directories, or similar)
- Proficiency in modern design tooling (e.g., Figma) including prototyping and component/design-system work
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards and how to apply them in real interfaces
- Comfort collaborating directly with engineers and product managers in a fast-moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting and defending design decisions
Nice to have
- Experience designing rating, ranking, or review-based products
- Familiarity with SEO or content-driven page design, since public, indexed pages are core to this product
- Prior experience at a small team or startup where design ownership is broad
