QA Engineer

ABA Rank operates an independent directory and ranked index of Applied Behavior Analysis providers, software, and service vendors, along with public tools like a searchable index, filtering, and a matching desk that connects buyers with vendors. We're looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the reliability and accuracy of the platforms and data pipelines that power our directory, ranking engine, and matching tools.

What you'll do

• Design, write, and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, and end-to-end) for web applications and backend services
• Test data pipelines and ranking/scoring logic for correctness, especially around nightly recomputation processes
• Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution, working closely with engineers
• Build and maintain test plans for new features, including the public directory, search/filter tools, and vendor-matching workflows
• Perform manual exploratory testing to catch edge cases automated tests miss
• Monitor production systems for data integrity issues and help triage reported defects

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering
• Experience writing automated tests using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar
• Familiarity with API testing tools and practices (e.g., Postman, REST-assured)
• Comfortable reading SQL to verify data accuracy across databases
• Strong attention to detail and clear, written bug reporting
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and product teams in an agile environment

Nice to have

• Experience testing search, ranking, or recommendation systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows
• Basic scripting ability in Python or JavaScript for test tooling
