Casework produces AI Act conformity files, Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments, and Article 9 risk documentation for AI hiring tools, working against regulatory regimes including the EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773, and NYC LL 144. Each engagement is a fixed-scope, fixed-price production cycle — intake, discovery, drafting, review, handoff — and the resulting documentation has to be precise, regulator-ready, and defensible. We're hiring a Technical Writer (Regulatory) to own the clarity, structure, and consistency of these deliverables across engagements.
What you'll do
- Draft and edit sections of conformity files, FRIAs, risk management documentation, and post-market monitoring plans against a standardized methodology
- Translate discovery notes, subject-matter interviews, and regulatory text into clear, well-structured documentation suitable for regulator review
- Maintain consistency of terminology, citation, and formatting across deliverables and engagements
- Work with discovery and drafting teams to identify documentation gaps and ensure every required section is complete and accurate
- Verify that citations to source regulation (EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773, NYC LL 144, and related rules) are accurate and current
- Revise drafts based on internal review and client feedback within engagement timelines
What we're looking for
- Experience as a technical writer, policy writer, or compliance writer, ideally in a regulated, legal, or highly structured documentation environment
- Strong plain-language writing skills paired with comfort reading and citing regulatory or legal text
- Ability to work within a fixed production schedule and turn around accurate drafts quickly
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially around citation accuracy and internal consistency across long documents
- Comfort working with unfamiliar technical or AI-related subject matter and asking the right clarifying questions
Nice to have
- Prior experience with AI governance, data privacy, or employment law documentation
- Familiarity with the EU AI Act, US state AI hiring laws, or similar emerging regulatory frameworks
- Experience producing documentation intended for regulator or auditor review
