DoubleTap Consulting builds custom websites, product platforms and internal software for streaming, SaaS and commerce teams, working with a senior-only team on engagements that range from a six-week site build to a twelve-month platform replatform. We're hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to work directly with clients and the rest of the build team, with no account layer and no junior bench between you and the code.
What you'll do
- Own frontend architecture and implementation for client platforms, marketing sites and internal tools, primarily in React and Next.js
- Translate design systems and product requirements into performant, accessible, production-grade interfaces
- Work directly with clients on scoping, sequencing and technical trade-offs rather than through an account layer
- Partner with backend engineers on API design and integration points for Node/Postgres-backed systems
- Set up and maintain frontend tooling, testing and release processes that a client's own team can run after handoff
- Review code and mentor other engineers on the engagement to keep quality consistent across a small, senior team
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience, including substantial production work in React
- Strong experience with Next.js or comparable modern React frameworks
- Track record of owning frontend architecture decisions on client-facing or high-traffic products
- Comfort working directly with clients or stakeholders, including on scope and technical communication
- Solid fundamentals in performance, accessibility and responsive design
- Experience handing off code and infrastructure so a receiving team can maintain it independently
Nice to have
- Experience with React Native for cross-platform builds spanning iOS, Android and web
- Familiarity with CMS architecture, headless content platforms or marketing-site migrations
- Experience with payment integrations such as Stripe Connect
- Background working in a consultancy or agency model with multiple concurrent client engagements
