Full Stack Engineer

DoubleTap Consulting is a senior-only software consultancy that builds custom websites, product platforms and internal software for streaming, SaaS and commerce teams. We're hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a small, hands-on team where every engagement is run by the people doing the work — no account layer, no junior bench, no offshore hand-off. You'll work directly with clients and teammates to scope, build and ship production software, typically using Next.js and React on the frontend, React Native for cross-platform builds, and Node with Postgres on the backend.

What you'll do

• Design, build and ship full stack features across web and, where needed, mobile applications
• Architect backend services and APIs using Node and Postgres, with an eye toward maintainability and performance
• Build frontend interfaces in Next.js/React that hold up under real traffic and real deadlines
• Work directly with clients to scope engagements, sequence work and communicate tradeoffs without an account layer in between
• Set up infrastructure, observability and release processes that a client's own team can own after handoff
• Participate in code review and technical decision-making across concurrent client engagements

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional full stack development experience
• Strong command of React/Next.js and Node.js, with production experience designing schemas and queries in Postgres
• Demonstrated ability to own a project end-to-end, from scoping conversations through deployment and handoff
• Comfort working directly with clients or stakeholders, not just a team lead
• Experience shipping and maintaining production systems, including deployment, monitoring and incident response
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially explaining technical tradeoffs to non-engineers

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native for iOS/Android/web builds
• Experience with payment infrastructure (e.g., Stripe Connect) or commerce platforms
• Experience migrating or replatforming an existing site or application without loss of SEO or functionality
• Prior consulting or agency experience working across multiple client engagements at once
