HireAIScore is an independent directory that rates AI hiring vendors against a published rubric tied to the EU AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, the Colorado AI Act, and Illinois HB 3773. We're hiring a Technical Writer to make our methodology, rubric, and vendor-facing documentation clear, precise, and easy for both regulators-minded readers and everyday job seekers to understand.
What you'll do
- Write and maintain documentation explaining the scoring rubric, its seven categories, and how sub-criteria map to specific regulatory articles (EU AI Act, NYC LL 144, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773)
- Translate methodology updates and rubric version changes into clear, versioned changelogs and explainer content
- Draft and edit long-form analysis pieces covering regulatory developments, case law, and what they mean for AI hiring vendors
- Collaborate with the editorial and evaluation team to ensure vendor profiles, category pages, and tool instructions are accurate and consistent
- Maintain a consistent style and voice across the site's methodology pages, glossary, and public-facing explainers
- Review and edit contributions from subject-matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and readability
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a technical writer, ideally covering complex, regulated, or policy-adjacent subject matter
- Ability to translate dense technical or legal material into plain, structurally clear language
- Strong editing skills and comfort maintaining a consistent editorial voice across many pages and contributors
- Experience working with version-controlled documentation or changelogs
- Excellent written English and meticulous attention to accuracy and sourcing
- Comfort reading and summarizing primary source material such as statutes, regulations, or legal filings
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI governance, employment law, or HR technology
- Experience writing about compliance, audit, or scoring methodologies
- Background in journalism, policy writing, or legal writing
