Backend Engineer

Migaru AI builds an AI-native CRM that keeps the sales record current automatically — reading a team's email, calendar and calls, filing each conversation where it belongs, and drafting the follow-up work that usually falls through the cracks. We're hiring a Backend Engineer to help build and scale the systems that power this product.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power core product features
• Work with integrations to email, calendar, and calling platforms, processing and structuring data reliably at scale
• Build and maintain data pipelines that keep account, contact, and deal records accurate and up to date
• Collaborate with product and frontend engineers to ship features end to end
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code review
• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability as usage grows

What we're looking for

• Professional experience building and operating backend services in a production environment
• Strong skills in at least one backend language (e.g. Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or similar)
• Experience designing APIs and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Comfort working with third-party integrations and asynchronous data processing
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, CI/CD
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a fast-moving, small-team environment

Nice to have

• Experience working with AI/LLM-powered features or pipelines
• Experience with email, calendar, or calling platform APIs (Gmail, Outlook, Zoom, etc.)
• Experience at an early-stage startup
