The opportunity

We're currently looking for a User Insights Leader. Someone to join our Concepts & Simulation team, which is a part of the Attributes & Validation team in shaping and advancing the next generation of the Polestar user experience. Someone with a passion for understanding customer needs, translating insights into impactful experiences, and driving innovation at the intersection of technology, design, and human behaviour.

Polestar user experience development is entering a new phase focused on technology, functionality, and user satisfaction. We're investing in the next generation of the Polestar interface through streamlined everyday user journeys, deeper integration of AI-enabled experiences, and the technical foundations needed to support innovative and intuitive solutions.

Working at the center of UX, you'll combine user research, behavioural insights, customer data, and cross-functional collaboration to influence product direction and create experiences that are both desirable and easy to use. You'll play a key role in balancing customer needs, business objectives, and technical possibilities while helping shape the future of mobility.

This position is located at the Polestar headquarters in Gothenburg. We believe in a hybrid model when it comes to remote and onsite work, knowing that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are needed. What matters most is that people get the time, and support, to do what needs to be done. And to enjoy doing it, of course.

The responsibilities

In this role, you'll be expected to drive and structure complex Product User Experience initiatives while ensuring alignment across multiple functions and stakeholders. Working as a member of the Concepts & Simulation team, you'll be instrumental in defining user journeys, establishing interaction principles, and supporting the development of intuitive and seamless customer experiences.

See below for a more thorough breakdown of the various tasks and areas you'll be responsible for:

  • Lead and structure complex Product User Experience initiatives, defining user journeys, interaction principles, and use cases that create intuitive and seamless customer experiences.

  • Act as a cross-functional project lead, collaborating with Product, Design, Engineering, Customer Experience, Procurement, and external partners to drive alignment and delivery.

  • Define and maintain UX requirements at system, hardware, and software levels while co-creating UX solutions across product development teams.

  • Establish and manage UX evaluation methodologies, including usability assessments, customer satisfaction measurements, benchmarking, and comparative scoreboards.

  • Drive data-informed UX development by coordinating user research activities, leveraging customer insights, and identifying opportunities to improve product experiences.

The ideal candidate

In order to succeed in this role, and at Polestar in general, there are a few characteristics you'll need to have. Tenacity. Flexibility. Curiosity. The ability to take the initiative, to meet deadlines and requirements, and to abandon ideas when they're not feasible.

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and who thrives when working across functions to solve complex customer experience challenges.

In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, User Experience or equivalent

  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects within product development, balancing both strategic and operational responsibilities.

  • Strong expertise in UX principles, user journey mapping, interaction design methodologies, and customer-centric product development.

  • Experience developing evaluation frameworks, benchmarking methodologies, and translating customer insights into actionable product improvements.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence decisions across a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders across multiple functions and organizational levels.

Stakeholder interfaces

In this role, you'll collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including:
