Join us in building the future of finance.

Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you’re ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading.

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world’s biggest financial problems. We’re looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn’t a place for complacency, it’s where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We’re a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

Robinhood's Crypto Legal team supports the company's onchain products, including Robinhood Chain, Robinhood Wallet, and Stock Tokens. The team partners with Product, Engineering, and Compliance across multiple business lines and jurisdictions to help these products launch responsibly and on schedule. We look for attorneys who are pragmatic, collaborative, and decisive.

As a Crypto Onchain Attorney, you will serve as product counsel for Robinhood's onchain products. You'll advise Product and Engineering teams on legal and regulatory considerations from early design through launch, and help structure go-to-market strategy across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with business partners throughout the Crypto organization to keep legal strategy consistent across the onchain product suite. This role has immediate, visible impact: you'll help shape how Robinhood develops onchain finance.

This role is based in our New York, NY, Menlo Park, CA and Washington, DC office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as product counsel for Robinhood's onchain products, advising from concept through launch
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to evaluate legal and regulatory risk for new onchain features and multi-jurisdictional launches
  • Review and edit commercial contracts in support of partnerships
  • Work with legal and business partners to align legal strategy across the on-chain product suite
  • Track and interpret crypto regulatory developments across jurisdictions, and translate them into practical guidance for Product and Engineering teams
  • Help develop legal frameworks that support Robinhood's expansion into new onchain markets and products

What you bring

  • You have a securities, derivatives, or financial services legal background, with experience moving into crypto-focused work, either in-house or at a law firm
  • You bring 4+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantive work advising on self-custody wallets, decentralized exchanges, or tokenized assets
  • You're comfortable operating across jurisdictions where regulatory guidance is still developing
  • You explain legal and regulatory concepts clearly to non-legal partners in Product and Engineering
  • You balance legal risk with the pace of a fast-moving product organization
  • You have experience using the latest AI tooling for legal research and drafting

What we offer

  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career
  • Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching
  • Top Tier benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents
  • Access to the Robinhood Employee Fund that gives eligible US employees the opportunity to invest in a private employee fund that provides exposure to Robinhood Ventures funds.
  • Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not.
  • Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

What applying to Robinhood usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through greenhouse for roles at Robinhood can generally expect a structured process that starts with an online application and resume screen, followed by recruiter outreach if there is interest. The process may include multiple stages such as a recruiter phone screen, one or more technical or role-specific assessments, and interviews with hiring managers or team members, potentially followed by a final round involving several interviewers. Greenhouse-based processes typically allow candidates to track application status through an online portal and may include take-home exercises or live problem-solving depending on the role. Response times vary and communication frequency can differ by team. Candidates should prepare general materials relevant to the role type and be ready to discuss past experience, technical skills, and behavioral scenarios, as these are common elements across greenhouse-managed hiring processes.
