We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Role Overview

As an AI Product Designer, you will turn product vision, user needs, and business requirements into clear and intuitive experiences for SAP’s internal AI products, tools, and platforms.

You will work across the full design process, from research and early concepts through prototyping, validation, implementation, and launch communication. You will partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to simplify complex workflows and create solutions that are useful, scalable, and aligned with SAP design standards.

This is a multidisciplinary role combining product design, UX research, interaction and visual design, motion design, branding, and product communication. Product design is the core of the role, supported by strong visual storytelling and communication skills.

What you'll do

Product Design and Delivery

  • Own the design of new products, features, and functional modules from early exploration through implementation and iteration.
  • Lead the end-to-end UX/UI process, including research, user flows, wireframes, prototyping, visual design, validation, and developer handover.
  • Translate complex AI capabilities, technical constraints, and business requirements into clear and intuitive user experiences.
  • Develop user journeys, service blueprints, information architecture, and experience maps where needed.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to assess trade-offs, shape product direction, and ensure the final implementation reflects the intended experience.
  • Review implemented designs and help resolve usability, accessibility, visual, and interaction issues before release.

AI Experience Design

  • Design AI-enabled experiences such as conversational interfaces, assisted workflows, recommendations, automation, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
  • Consider how users understand and respond to uncertainty, loading, errors, fallbacks, and AI-generated outputs.
  • Create clear ways for users to review, edit, approve, correct, or override AI-generated results.
  • Apply responsible design principles, including transparency, privacy, accessibility, user control, and appropriate human oversight.
  • Explore new interaction models such as agentic, multimodal, and adaptive experiences when relevant to the product.

Research and Product Strategy

  • Plan and conduct user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and validation sessions, then translate the findings into practical design recommendations.
  • Use qualitative feedback and product data to identify friction, prioritise improvements, and support ongoing iteration.
  • Facilitate design thinking, co-creation, and stakeholder workshops to frame problems, generate ideas, and align teams around a direction.
  • Contribute a user-centred design perspective to product strategy, roadmap discussions, and prioritisation.

Design Systems and Content

  • Create and maintain reusable components, patterns, and visual systems aligned with SAP Fiori and SAP design standards.
  • Help define reusable patterns for AI interactions, responsive behaviour, motion, and common system states.
  • Maintain consistency across typography, colour, imagery, layout, and interface behaviour.
  • Write or contribute to interface copy, prompts, guidance, empty states, error messages, and onboarding content.
  • Build accessibility and inclusive design into the design and review process.

Motion, Branding, and Product Communication

  • Create product identities, visual assets, illustrations, and communication materials that are distinctive while remaining aligned with SAP’s corporate identity.
  • Define and maintain a consistent visual direction across product interfaces, presentations, launch materials, and other communication touchpoints.
  • Produce product walkthroughs, interface demonstrations, feature videos, launch content, and motion graphics using tools such as Adobe After Effects.
  • Use motion and storytelling to explain complex capabilities, demonstrate product value, and support product adoption.
  • Design interface animations and transitions that clarify system behaviour and guide user attention.

What you bring

  • 2 to 5 years of proven experience in product design, UX/UI design, interaction design, and motion design.
  • A strong portfolio showing end-to-end product design work, including research, user flows, prototypes, visual systems, and implemented products.
  • High proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, component creation, and design-system management.
  • Strong visual and UI design skills, with good judgement in typography, layout, hierarchy, consistency, and interaction details.
  • Experience designing complex enterprise, SaaS, platform, or workflow-based products.
  • High proficiency in Adobe After Effects, with experience creating product animations, interface demonstrations, or feature videos.
  • Experience in branding and art direction, including product identities, logos, visual assets, and communication systems.
  • Practical experience conducting UX research, usability testing, and user validation.
  • A strong understanding of interaction design, usability, accessibility, and human-centred design.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered products and the design challenges associated with generative AI, conversational interfaces, automation, and intelligent recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage several design workstreams, and take projects from ambiguity to delivery.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and working with diverse stakeholders to turn discussions into clear design decisions.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to explain design decisions and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, researchers, and other cross-functional partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing generative AI, conversational, agentic, multimodal, or automation-based products.
  • Experience working on internal enterprise tools or platforms serving multiple user groups.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAP design standards, or another established enterprise design system.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 AA.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, front-end frameworks, or design-to-development workflows.
  • Additional experience in video editing, illustration, 3D, or sound design.
  • Experience working in agile, distributed, and multidisciplinary teams.
