Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translations of documents such as birth certificates, marriage records, academic transcripts, and court filings, primarily in Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish, with a strong focus on the MENA region and immigration use cases. We're looking for a Vendor / Linguist Recruiter to build and manage the pipeline of native-speaker translators and reviewers who make this work possible - sourcing, vetting, and onboarding linguists across our core languages and beyond.
What you'll do
- Source, screen, and recruit qualified freelance and contract linguists and reviewers across multiple languages, with priority on Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish
- Vet candidates for language proficiency, subject-matter expertise, and familiarity with regional document conventions and formats
- Manage the end-to-end vendor onboarding process, including credential verification, test translations, and contract setup
- Maintain and grow a pipeline of vetted linguists to meet demand across standard, express, rush, and same-day turnaround tiers
- Track linguist performance, quality, and reliability, and manage offboarding or escalation when standards aren't met
- Build relationships with linguist communities, professional associations, and referral networks to support ongoing recruiting needs
What we're looking for
- Experience recruiting or managing a network of freelance linguists, translators, or interpreters, ideally in a language services or localization environment
- Strong understanding of translation quality standards and vendor management practices
- Ability to evaluate language proficiency and credentials across multiple languages, including languages you don't personally speak, using structured assessment methods
- Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing a high volume of candidates and vendor relationships simultaneously
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working with fast-moving deadlines given the company's rapid turnaround commitments
Nice to have
- Familiarity with MENA-region languages, dialects, or document types (civil registries, academic records, court documents)
- Experience recruiting linguists for immigration, legal, or certified translation work
- Prior use of vendor management or applicant tracking systems for contractor networks
