Wanderlust is a travel planning app that builds day-by-day itineraries from real city and cost data, runs trips offline on the ground through Trip Mode, and lets travelers share and discover trips in a public feed. We're looking for a Data Analyst to help us understand how people plan, live, and share their trips, and to turn that understanding into insights that shape the product.
What you'll do
- Analyze user behavior across the planning, trip-taking, and sharing experience to identify trends, drop-off points, and opportunities for improvement
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports that give product, growth, and leadership teams clear visibility into key metrics
- Partner with product managers and engineers to define metrics for new features (e.g., AI itinerary generation, Optimize Day, Travel Passport) and measure their impact after launch
- Design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to inform product and pricing decisions
- Investigate and explain changes in core metrics such as activation, retention, conversion to Pro, and engagement with city guides and /explore
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear analyses and present findings to non-technical stakeholders
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or analytics engineering role, ideally at a consumer app or subscription product
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying large, sometimes messy datasets
- Experience with a BI or visualization tool such as Looker, Tableau, Mode, or Metabase
- Comfort with statistics fundamentals, including experiment design and analysis
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-directed and comfortable working with ambiguity in a fast-moving product environment
Nice to have
- Experience analyzing subscription or freemium business models
- Familiarity with Python or R for deeper statistical analysis
- Experience working with mobile app analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel)
- Interest in or experience with the travel industry
