Job descriptionFull Time

Web Design Awards runs an editorially-curated awards program that judges submitted websites against a published rubric and names jury, producing an index that designers, agencies, and buyers browse when choosing who to hire. We're looking for a Product Analyst to help us understand how designers, studios, and hiring teams use the site and submission flow, and to turn that behavior into clear recommendations that improve the product.

What you'll do

  • Analyze user behavior across the submission flow, the public index, award pages, and the studio-matching experience to identify friction points and opportunities
  • Define, track, and report on key product metrics (conversion, engagement, retention) for both the submission side (designers/studios) and the discovery side (hiring teams)
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering to scope experiments, write analysis plans, and interpret A/B test results
  • Build and maintain dashboards and self-serve reporting so stakeholders can answer their own questions about product performance
  • Translate data findings into written recommendations and present them to product and leadership stakeholders
  • Support pricing, packaging, and placement decisions (e.g., free vs. premium vs. rushed submissions) with data-driven analysis

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in a product analyst, business analyst, or data analyst role, ideally at a marketplace, directory, or subscription product
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with a BI or analytics tool (e.g., Looker, Mode, Amplitude, or similar)
  • Comfort designing and interpreting A/B tests and funnel analyses
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers
  • Solid grounding in statistics sufficient to sanity-check experiment design and results

Nice to have

  • Experience with two-sided marketplaces or curated directory/award-style products
  • Familiarity with SEO or content-driven acquisition metrics
  • Experience with Python or R for deeper statistical analysis
