Cadence ABA builds AI-native clinical software for ABA therapy teams, using voice capture and agentic AI to structure session data, track mastery, and draft billable session notes in real time - keeping clinicians present with the child instead of buried in a tablet. We're looking for a UX Researcher to help us understand how clinicians, RBTs, and clinical directors actually work in-session and behind the scenes, and to make sure our product decisions are grounded in that reality rather than assumption.
What you'll do
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research (interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing, surveys) with ABA clinicians and other care team roles
- Partner with product and design to shape the roadmap around real clinical workflows, including in-session data capture, note review, and authorization tracking
- Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and present them to cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering and leadership
- Design and run usability evaluations on new and existing features, including agent-proposed workflows where the clinician reviews and signs off on AI-generated output
- Build and maintain a repository of research findings, personas, and journey maps that the team can reference over time
- Help define and track UX metrics that reflect whether Cadence is actually restoring clinical presence, not just adding another interface
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of experience as a UX Researcher or in a similar applied research role
- Strong grounding in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the judgment to know which fits a given question
- Experience designing and moderating usability studies and translating findings into concrete design and product recommendations
- Comfort working with clinical, technical, or otherwise specialized end users and translating domain-specific workflows into research plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research clearly to non-researchers
- Experience working closely with product and design teams in a fast-moving product environment
Nice to have
- Experience researching healthcare, clinical, or other regulated/compliance-sensitive software
- Familiarity with ABA therapy, behavioral health, or adjacent clinical documentation workflows
- Experience researching AI-assisted or agentic product experiences where users review and approve system-generated output
