QA Engineer

Casework produces AI Act conformity files, Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments, and Article 9 risk documentation for AI hiring tools, helping employers meet obligations under the EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773, and NYC LL 144. As the company scales its productized engagements, we're looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, consistency, and accuracy of the deliverables and internal tooling that support our production cycle.

What you'll do

• Design and execute test plans to validate the accuracy and consistency of generated documentation artifacts and any internal tooling used in production
• Build and maintain automated test suites covering functional, regression, and integration scenarios
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, working closely with engineering and production teams
• Review AI-assisted drafting and citation-verification workflows for correctness and reliability
• Collaborate with the team to define quality standards and acceptance criteria for new features and processes
• Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, and test coverage as the methodology evolves

What we're looking for

• Experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar quality assurance / test engineering role
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing
• Experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts (e.g., using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar)
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to reason carefully about edge cases and correctness
• Clear written communication skills, particularly for documenting defects and test results

Nice to have

• Experience testing AI-generated content or workflows involving large language models
• Familiarity with compliance, legal-tech, or regulated-industry documentation products
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows
