QA Engineer

DoubleTap Consulting is a senior-only software consultancy that builds custom websites, product platforms and internal software for streaming, SaaS and commerce teams, working directly with clients from scoping through delivery. We're hiring a Senior QA / Test Automation Engineer to help ensure the platforms and applications we ship for our clients hold up under real-world usage, from launch day through scale.

What you'll do

• Design, build and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end) across web and API layers
• Partner with engineers and designers throughout an engagement to define test strategy and acceptance criteria
• Identify gaps in test coverage and prioritize automation efforts based on risk and release cadence
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated test execution
• Investigate, triage and document defects, working directly with the engineers who built the feature to resolve them
• Perform manual exploratory testing where automation isn't practical, including cross-browser and cross-device checks

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in QA or test automation, ideally on fast-moving product or consultancy teams
• Hands-on experience building automated test frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
• Solid understanding of API testing tools and practices (e.g., Postman, REST-assured)
• Comfort working directly with engineers in a senior, client-facing team with no QA hand-off layer
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong written communication for documenting bugs, test plans and coverage gaps

Nice to have

• Experience testing Next.js/React or React Native applications
• Familiarity with Node and Postgres-backed systems
• Experience with performance or load testing tools
• Prior consulting or agency experience working across multiple client codebases
