Hire AI Score operates an independent directory that scores AI hiring vendors against a published rubric tied to the EU AI Act, the Colorado AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, and Illinois HB 3773. We're looking for a GEO / AI Visibility Specialist to make sure our rankings, methodology pages, and vendor profiles surface accurately and prominently when people ask AI assistants and search engines about AI hiring compliance, vendor scores, and related regulations.
This role focuses on generative engine optimization (GEO) - ensuring our content is structured, cited, and authoritative enough to be pulled into AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and similar), alongside traditional SEO fundamentals.
What you'll do
- Audit how our site and content currently appear (or fail to appear) in AI-generated answers, search snippets, and citations across major LLM-powered tools
- Optimize existing pages - rankings, methodology, rubric, category, and regulation explainers - for both traditional search and AI answer engines
- Develop a content and structured-data strategy (schema markup, entity clarity, source citability) that improves machine readability and retrieval
- Track and report on visibility metrics across search engines and AI platforms, identifying gaps and opportunities
- Collaborate with the editorial team to shape new content (rubric updates, vendor profiles, regulatory explainers) with AI discoverability in mind from the outset
- Stay current on how major AI platforms source, cite, and rank content, and adjust tactics as those systems evolve
What we're looking for
- Demonstrated experience in SEO, content strategy, or a similar discipline, with hands-on exposure to GEO/AI visibility work
- Working knowledge of structured data, schema markup, and technical on-page optimization
- Comfort analyzing how LLMs retrieve, summarize, and cite web content, and translating that into practical content changes
- Strong analytical skills - able to pull and interpret data from search consoles, analytics platforms, and AI visibility tracking tools
- Clear, precise writing skills; comfort working with editorial and subject-matter-heavy content
- Ability to work independently and prioritize across multiple content areas
Nice to have
- Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, or B2B research/directory content
- Experience optimizing content for citation in AI Overviews, Perplexity, or similar answer engines
- Background in technical SEO tooling (Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Search Console, etc.)
