HireAIScore is an independent directory that rates AI hiring vendors against a published rubric tied to the EU AI Act, the Colorado AI Act, NYC Local Law 144, and Illinois HB 3773. The rubric is open, scoring is evaluator-driven, and no vendor can pay for placement or a better score. We're hiring a QA Engineer to help make sure the scoring platform, vendor profiles, and public-facing tools behave correctly as the rubric, data, and site evolve.
What you'll do
- Design, write, and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, and end-to-end) for the scoring platform and public directory
- Test new features such as vendor profiles, rubric updates, and comparison tools before they ship, catching regressions early
- Build and maintain test plans for data-heavy features, including score calculations, filtering, and sorting across the vendor directory
- Investigate, reproduce, and file clear bug reports, working closely with engineers to verify fixes
- Perform manual exploratory testing on new releases, including edge cases around data accuracy and scoring logic
- Help define and improve QA processes, tooling, and release checklists as the team grows
What we're looking for
- 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering
- Experience writing automated tests (e.g., with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
- Solid understanding of web application testing, including API testing and cross-browser behavior
- Comfort reading through data and logic to verify correctness, not just UI behavior
- Strong written communication for bug reports and test documentation
- Ability to work independently and prioritize testing effort across multiple features
Nice to have
- Experience testing data-driven or content-heavy platforms (directories, marketplaces, or rating/review sites)
- Familiarity with SQL for verifying data accuracy
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows
