Privacy & Data Protection Specialist

Casework produces AI Act conformity files, Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments, and Article 9 risk documentation for AI hiring tools, helping mid-market companies meet obligations under the EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773, and NYC LL 144. We're hiring a Privacy / Data Protection Specialist to help build and maintain the privacy and data protection components of these conformity files, working closely with our production and drafting teams on live client engagements.

What you'll do

• Assess AI hiring tools and workflows for privacy and data protection risks under applicable regimes (GDPR, US state privacy laws, and AI-specific hiring regulations)
• Draft and review data protection sections of conformity files, including data flow mapping, lawful basis analysis, and retention practices
• Contribute privacy-specific input to Fundamental Rights Impact Assessments and Article 9 risk management documentation
• Evaluate vendor data processing agreements and documentation for gaps relevant to hiring AI deployments
• Support post-market monitoring plan design as it relates to data protection metrics and thresholds
• Collaborate with drafting and discovery teams during the production cycle to ensure documentation is accurate, defensible, and audit-ready

What we're looking for

• Experience in privacy, data protection, or data governance roles, ideally with exposure to GDPR and/or US state privacy laws
• Familiarity with data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) or similar structured risk-assessment methodologies
• Ability to translate technical and legal requirements into clear, well-organized documentation
• Strong written communication skills and comfort working under fixed timelines and deliverables
• Working knowledge of how AI/ML systems process personal data, including profiling and automated decision-making concerns

Nice to have

• Experience with HR tech, hiring platforms, or employment-related AI tools
• Familiarity with the EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, Illinois HB 3773, or NYC LL 144
• Background supporting bias audits or algorithmic accountability reviews
• Experience working in a consulting, advisory, or productized-services environment
